Each year, the Squadron is allocated places on camps that take place across the UK and Overseas. These camps offer many experiences and insights to the life of how active personnel operate daily. It can also include exclusive trips to local units on RAF stations.
Find below some of the camps available.
Summer camps are held at RAF stations around the country and allow cadets to see what the RAF really gets up to, visit places of interest in the local areas and meet new people from across the Wing.
Week long camp in the Easter Holiday, filled with competition, teambuilding and leadership. A range of activities include First Aid, a 36hr Exercise, Adventure Training, Orienteering and Fieldcraft. This is the largest camp by Bedfordshire & Cambridgeshire Wing with around 300 cadets and 80 staff.
Week long camp aboard at one of our RAF stations in Gibraltar, Cyprus or Germany. There's less focus on drill and inspections and more on the other aspects of camp, such as work experience with RAF personnel and looking around local towns (like Limassol in Cyprus) and exploring historical sites, plus other fun activities.
You get to spend a week in either Snowdonia National Park or Lake District National Park. The main activities will include mountain walking, rock scrambling, rock climbing, abseiling, mountain biking and water activities.
The annual National Aerospace Camp is a flagship training camp, providing specialist aerospace, aviation and engineering training and experiences.
The International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE) is open to 17-19 years and links the Air Cadets with like minded youth organisations across the world. For 15 days every July and August we exchange students so each gets a taste of the other's culture and another great cadet experience.
